IBA Studio, Berlin 2020
Chezweitz & Roseapple’s concept for the third international building exhibition (IBA) in Berlin stipulated that the exhibits should arise out of workshops and the exhibition should grow through participation in a process-driven way.
Our particular challenge was despite the low budget to create an attractive working atmosphere as well as an event and exhibition space. Thus we reverted to making furniture out of bulky waste, unitising the pieces in terms of colour and preparing them for their function. With a few piles of pattern plates plus Styrocutter machines, the plans for the IBA grew brick for brick.
